The success of École de langues de l’Estrie has been the result of the careful and systematic selection our teachers. In hiring teachers, we focus on the following elements:


Education
École de langues de l’Estrie evaluates the level and pertinence of education of the teachers. Our teachers either have bachelor’s degrees in the domains of education, the social sciences or humanities, or are engaged in Masters or Doctoral studies in the fields of education, translation, or linguistics.
 
Experience
As part of the general hiring requirements, École de langues de l’Estrie evaluates: Months of experience in teaching the target language
 
Months of experience in teaching the target language
Experience in teaching adults
 
References are checked, including:
The period over which the teacher has provided language training services
The language(s) taught
The status of the students (junior school, high school, adult education)
 
Culture
The interview process at École de langues de l’Estrie involves an evaluation of teacher familiarity with the culture of the target language. It goes without saying that the teachers are perfectly fluent in their respective languages and that our courses respect the current teaching requirements for 80% Canadian content.
